#TheDinnerParty by #RJParker is one of my top reads of 2019, and here's why.

This pacy, unputdownable story builds with a subtly that's unnerving, the tension ratcheting up to an unbearably climatic denouement. Parker takes everything a psychological thriller should have: an original idea and a superb plot told exceptionally well by realistic and expertly described characters. The idea of trusting your partner and friends with your deepest, darkest secret during a dinner party game, when the booze is flowing and everyone's feeling a little nervous is a great premise for an excellently thrilling story. Loose lips and paranoia, panic and fault-finding, everyone blaming each other for your friends murder, convinced you know who killed them. I could not stop reading until I learned who did it and why, and had no preconceived ideas, though I'm sure if I had they'd have been wrong. All in all this was without doubt one of my most enjoyable reads of the year!

Richard Parker also writes as R J Parker for HarperCollins and was formerly a TV script writer, script editor and producer before turning his hand to penning twisted stand alone thrillers. THE DINNER PARTY is his latest stand alone thriller and has been called 'the most addictive, twisty, psychological thriller of 2019.' R. J. Parker is the initialled name of Richard Parker, an author who has written several thrillers to date. Though this was the first I've read, it certainly won't be the last.

Sink your teeth in this blurb:

All your friends are invited. But which of them will survive?

An addictive and twisty psychological thriller about the dark secrets that lie within a peaceful neighbourhood.

Eight friends. Eight secrets. One killer.

A group of old friends gather in a peaceful suburban street for a dinner party.

They are expecting a fun evening of wine, food and pleasant company. But then they start to play the game…

It’s about trust and dark secrets – it tests marriage to its limits – and none of them can begin to imagine its consequences.

Because the next day, two guests are dead and the others are trapped in a nightmare…

I loved this book, I gave it five stars, and I know you will too. So, grab your copy here:
